New York extends statute of limitations again – this time, to June 6, 2020.

As we have noted before, the New York state courts have essentially been closed during the pandemic. (This is not true for New York's federal courts.) This obviously impacts parties who might want to file a complaint and are running up against statutes of limitations.

As it did earlier this year, New York has further extended the running of the statute of limitations through June 6, 2020.

So, those with complaints to file should keep an eye on the calendar and make sure that they are calculating their time to file.

Those who expect claims to be brought against them in a New York state court should brace themselves for a busy summer.
