John specialises in transactional and regulatory work in the financial services sector. He is a member of the Freshfields Fintech group, covering insurtech, regtech, open banking, automated advice and cryptoassets.
John advises banking and insurance clients on complex international public and private mergers and acquisitions. He also guides a wide variety of financial institutions on regulatory matters including conduct of business issues, licensing, market abuse, change of control, prime brokerage, governance and systems and controls. John is based in our Hong Kong office, and also has experience of advising on regulatory developments both at UK and EU level including Brexit, MiFID 2/MiFIR, MAR and Solvency 2.
