Alison specialises in pensions law, but has a broader pensions and employment law background.
Alison advises on the pension aspects of complex UK and cross-border transactions (including acquisitions, demergers, outsourcings and restructurings) and also carries out pension advisory work for trustees and employers. Alison has advised in relation to general scheme administration issues such as funding issues (including asset-backed contributions structures) and de-risking exercises.
Alison advises on all aspects of contentious pensions law including funding disputes, and has advised a major international corporate in an investigation arising around flawed pension administration practice. She has advised on disputes arising out of TUPE transfers and demergers.
Alison has given advice in relation to employment aspects of corporate transactions. Her employment advisory work includes executive hires and terminations and advice on the enforceability of restrictive covenants. Alison's recent contentious experience includes claims for unfair dismissal and discrimination.
Alison has previously been seconded to the firm’s Shanghai office, where she worked on a wide range of corporate transactions, and also to the role of Knowlege Management Lawyer for the Pensions team where she researched and drafted a number of briefings and presentations on the latest developments in pensions law.
Alison is a member of the Association of Pension Lawyers.
